We went here because one of my group had good review. I wonder if we had the correct Correct place It definitely was not the Mexican restaurant that we were led to believe it was to be my taco shell tasted of more like a cracker then a tortia the flavor was bland very little lettuce definitely not someplace I would return too

Okay I just finished eating one quarter of the flaming burrito and I'm stuffed and I have lunch and dinner for tomorrow. I will be back for more. Downside the menu is so big it took me extra extra time to figure out what to order.

I have never been to a restaurant that so blatantly served frozen, reheated, microwaved food. There was literally a pool of water on top of our enchiladas. Enchiladas. Water. The last time I checked, enchiladas weren't blanched, boiled, or meant to have anything to do with water. Not to mention the real giveaway; the inside was ice cold with a pretty hot, disgusting excuse for "cheese" exterior. I'd head to Chipotle for margaritas and fresher tasting food any day before ever stepping foot near here again. How can a restaurant fail at salsa, let alone guacamole, so miserably!? Simple recipes, utter fail. I'm also not impressed by the use of Spanish words here and there on the part of the wait staff, when paired with senseless conjugations, as if to give an authentic experience. Nice try!

I'm sad to say my experience at Teresa's was not as good as hoped. We started with the guacamole and chips, I have never had such bland guac before! It was really smooth and creamy. All the guac I've had before has chunks of avocado, onion, tomato, etc, and tastes very fresh, not at all what it was like here. The Taco fajita salad was just awful. The "fresh veggies and chicken" were soupy and at the bottom of the salad bowl, hard to get to past the shredded lettuce and more bad guac and sour cream. There was hardly any chicken, and you couldn't clearly tell what veggies were in it.. The shrimp taco on the other hand was good. The staff was also a bit off. They were friendly but service seemed unorganized. Our server came to the table with his hands full of drinks and asked me to hold an iced tea while setting down our drinks, he then took the iced tea I was holding and served it to another table. He also did the same with our entrees. Not a huge deal, but not exactly professional either. We had looked forward to trying Teresa's but it just did not live up to the hype.

Always great selection of food for lunch. Very attentive staff and great prices. Food arrives quickly for when you are rushed to eat.

Just OK. Best part of dinner was the salsa. Small portions, underwhelming flavor. Bland.

I went to this restaurant because it showed up because we were looking for a Mexican Restaurant. .We went over there and what a great experience. The young lady who was going to serve us was extremely friendly and clear about all the dishes. We don't eat pork so she told us which dishes we should have. She brings out the Salsa and chips and it was not spicy enough so she told us about two other Salsa's, a Medium and a HOT and then she offers to bring us both. Food was one of the best we had in Minnesota since we moved here about 2 years ago. You must be thinking if this was so GREAT why one STAR, right? So here it goes On Mother's day we go there again. Place was a little dirty, we thought it's because they must be BUSY. We had a server and then she handed us over to another person. This guy showed up and was not really interested in talking to us because there was something that was interesting him at the other corner. We asked for the other 2 Salsa's and his response was, we don't have them. We asked for HOT salsa and he came back with something that was a bit better than water and cilantro floating in it. We asked the other lady who handed us over to him she brought something in a bottle you get in a super markets. We explained what we had the last time and then this gentleman show up named Arthur, I assumed he was the manager, What a cocky guy again telling us he is not sure what we are talking about. We told him the story one more time and he goes and brings back the same store sold crap the other person brought us. We asked him to please bring us the Hottest Salsa he has and then he tell us, WE DON'T HAVE IT BECAUSE THE CHEF IS OUT TODAY AND NO ONE ELSE KNOW HOW TO MAKE IT. This was the worst manager I have ever had the displeasure to meet with. What an idiot. We asked him to bring us what ever they have that's the hottest they have and then he brings us the one we were asking for, almost the same. That person should not be at that place as a manager. When we were done we waited for 15 minuted waving our hands for someone to come get us the check nut no luck. We sent out daughter after a server who told her she will be right there and 10 minutes later we went to the host and got our check and paid for the still AMAZING FOOD "without a chef". Great food but no consistency in service.

I actually gave this place two chances before writing this review, because I wanted to have a wonderful Mexican restaurant near me. I'm glad I went a second time, because that will be the last. For starters, the place was dim and not that clean. It has to be really dirty to notice it in such a dim setting. The staff was charming and polite, so no complaints there. The food was the biggest issue. I had tamales (a favorite dish of mine). I felt like I was eating and paying for leftovers. Holy microwaved food. My companion's enchiladas were not much better. Soggy. Stale chips. Salsa that more closely resembled marinara. Just odd. I hate to say it, but go to Chipotle instead. Your money will get you more.

I'm visiting from Florida...we called for takeout, and were pleased that our order was correct and still warm by the time we got the food home. Food was very good and portions are healthy... We ordered 3 entrees and all were good. Menu is large, and I appreciate the fact they give you a choice of flour or corn tortillas. The beans they serve are red beans, never had them before but they had good flavor. My only suggestion is that if you like spicier salsa to request it, as the type that comes with your chips is mild. They also don't offer black beans.

I had an enjoyable dinner here the other night with some friends that live nearby. Given Teresa's suburban strip mall setting and huge menu (often difficult to execute well) my expectations were modest. I was pleasantly surprised. Starting with the chips and salsa, yes, the salsa is very mild. However, each person receives a small bowl into which one may pour an individual serving and then augment from two different hot sauces giving everybody a chance to reach an agreeable level of heat to taste. The chips were crunchy, non-greasy and tasted fresh. More salsa and chips were brought readily upon request. I ordered the Moctezuma Molcajete. It arrives in an enormous bowl that weighs a half-ton (seriously, it's heavy!) overflowing with slices of nicely seasoned chicken, beef, pork, several shrimp, chunks of chorizo, peppers, mushrooms, onions and cactus all swimming in a broth and topped with cheese. Frankly, it's almost comically over-sized and somewhat unwieldly. Is it even remotely "authentic" south of the border cuisine? Who cares? It's festive, flavorful and satisfying comfort food. Perfect fare for yet another of our endless series of sub-zero evenings. At first I wasn't sure how to go about eating it. I finally decided to treat it like fajitas, heaping stuff into folded over flour (or corn) tortillas (served with the dish) together with rice, beans, lettuce and guacamole. I would definitely order this again. I also had mucho leftovers to take home. My friends had the Carne Asada Burrito and the Chicken Fajitas respectively. They pronounced their dishes to be very tasty and more than adequate in size. Service was prompt and friendly. Prices were very reasonable considering the quality and quantity of food prepared. In my estimation Teresa's is a cut above big chain restaurants like Don Pablo's. All-in-all just a solid, unpretentious TexMex establishment.

Update: went on November 7th, ordered a steak burrito and it came chicken, no big deal sent it back for the correct one. 20 minutes later it shows up! Great I'm starving, the steak inside was ice cold!!!!! I find the waiter and tell him, he finds the manager the manager told me its because the guacamole is cold so it makes the steak cold... No I'm sorry the steak was ice cold right out of the refrigerator and wrapped up in a burrito. The manager looked at me and walked away. The waiter comes by I tell him to get the bill. Another 15 minutes later I'm ready to just leave the place... And now been here over a hour. Finally the waiter come out with a 3rd burrito (and no bill) and he asked me if I want it to go!?!?!? No, I want the bill so I can go to Taco Bell and eat!!! I'm super disappointed because I've like this place. Probably the worst service by a manger I've ever had.

I think this place is a great option if you live out in Prior Lake/Savage area of Minnesota. I think there food is enough of an Authentic flavor but also gives me the ability to eat it if my body can't handle hardcore heat. The staff is extremely friendly and willing to help in any way possible. I thought the best part if the prices. Seeing it is so cheap compared to other similar restaurants this will cause me to go back time and time again.

The atmosphere is too bright, loud and cold. It wasn't relaxing or inviting. I kept wishing my food would come quickly- wanted to leave. The staff was hard working, kind, efficient and the food was good!!

My hubby and I have eaten here once (in the bar area) and have gotten take out once as well. We will definitely continue to eat here on a regular basis, mainly because the the food is an exceptional value. Cons: I agree with the previous review that the guac is too creamy and a bit bland. I have definitely had better. The atmosphere is a bit to open and cold. This is definitely a family restaurant - perfect for large groups. Maybe not the best place for a quiet dinner for two... but sitting at a tall table in the bar was a bit more private. Pros: Margaritas are pretty decent - various sizes to choose from, and the happy hour specials are good. Prices can't be beat for what you get. Definitely a great value. Despite the mediocre guac, the chips are fresh and unlimited! I have had the shrimp tacos twice, and will continue to order them again and again. Just the right amount of heat and char. A bit watery and messy with the salsa, but what can you expect? Just grab a fork, and don't expect to use your best table manners. Service was EXCELLENT! Friendly staff at the host station. Our dinner arrived lightning fast, even on a crowded Friday night. If you want good, quality, Mexican food without paying an arm and a leg, definitely give Teresa's a try.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
